HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Hello hello! I would love to tell you how I got here, so here is a mini mini summary.
It all started when I was undecided about what career to study, I was between graphic design (because I had photography classes) or industrial design. I ended up deciding on industrial design because it covers more areas in the work field (which by the way, is where I met my husband, but well, that will be a story for another day). Even so, I always had the desire to explore the world of photography further. On March 8, 2012 (yes, I remember the date) I bought my first camera, a Canon T2i and a 50 mm f/1.8 mm.
I spent my time researching on my own how to use the camera, creating moodboards, taking photos of everything, collaborating with local brands and models to be able to capture those moodboards in photos. I posted those photos on Facebook and friends asked me if I could take photos of their cousin who was having a birthday, or of their sister who was pregnant, and that's how the word spread. So I continued studying industrial design and taking photos as a hobby.
I graduated in industrial design, explored different office jobs, related to furniture, kitchen design, product design and experiences at enviaflores (this has been my favorite) and at the same time, I continued taking photos as a hobby. In 2019 I approached @photo_bypriscilamier because the world of weddings began to attract my attention, so from Monday to Friday I had office work and on weekends events, portraits and more.
There came a point where photography started to demand more of my time, so my husband pushed me to dedicate myself full-time to it, doing the corresponding paperwork at the SAT and all the legal stuff (very important).
Today, I can say that being a photographer has been my full-time job for some time now! Thanks to my husband for all his support and for pushing me out of my comfort zone, to my parents for being on the lookout for anything that comes up, to my brothers for recommending me, to Pris for paving my way in the wedding world, to all my friends who recommend me with their eyes closed, and to all of you for trusting me. Truly THANK YOU! You make this dream that began years ago a reality today.
If there is something you are curious to try, try it little by little. It is better to try and not know where it will lead you, than to live with doubt. It doesn't have to be something radical, just start.
If you got this far, thank you for reading me, I send you a big hug.
